I don't know what's happening to me
I can't remember things I used to believe
I caught myself just the other day
stealing color from words and leaving them gray
I've fallen down a time or two
but no one was looking so I'm not telling you
I've got to make it better, make it all right
got to find me a ladder to reach the light
I've got to move to the exit, single file line
before the fire spreads to my head and burns my mind
It's been real but it's time to go home
time to change back to the clothes that I own
I could use some heavier shoes
to ground me in feelings I don't want to lose
I've fallen down a time or two
but no one was looking so I'm not telling you
I've got to make it better, make it all right
got to find me a ladder to reach the light
I've got move to the exit, single file line
before the fire spreads to my head and burns my mind
And all this time, I never knew
that it ever meant anything to you
I've got to make it better, make it all right
got to find me a ladder to reach the light
I've got to move to the exit, single file line
before the fire spreads to my head and burns my mind
I've got to make it better, make it all right
got to find me a ladder to reach the light
I've got to move to the exit, single file line
before the fire spreads to my head and burns my mind
Make it better, make it all right
I've got to make it better, make it all right[microphone]Hi this is Smoothe Steve from K-Jazz welcome to Java the Hut,
tonight we have a special guest a young man from uh,he's playin' a new song,
well here go.[guest]Thanks smoothe steve, hey this is a song about a book i
read once about the so called "inherit evils" of Rock 'n Roll, i wrote this
song about it, i guess i'd just like to thank you for lettin' me come out and
sing this song, here it is:
Once i read a book, and this is what it said, "If your music has a beat, then
your gonna wind up dead. It doesn't really matter if its Christian or not, if
it's syncopated rhythm, then your soul is gonna rot." And this book was called:
Ha! your gonna burn! and in the second chapter, i went on to learn:
[chorus]you take 2 houseplants and put em to the test, set them both in front
of speakers and let the music do the rest. The 1st one you play Mozart or
something lovely like that, the 2nd one you play that Petra or that Megadeth.
Doesn't really matter what what kind of rock it is.
So I took my 2 houseplants, and i put them to the test, I set em both in front
of speakers and let the music do the rest. I powered up my pioneers and let the
music roar, but 20 minutes later someone's knockin' at my door.
I opened up my door, and there my neighbor stood. He said "Man I'd really like
to get some sleep, if you think i could" I said "Man, can't you see here, i've
got this
moral dilemma that i have gotta get clear" He said "What kind of moral dilemma
could you have a this time of night, that could make me so angry that i just
wanna FIGHT![sound of a cup breaking] So i pointed to the page, in that open
book, that had a picture of a potted plant, and i said go have a look. And he
read:
Repeat Chorus
Firstly, said my neighbour, thats vaugner that your playin', i've never heard
of Petra,
and isn't Megadeath a
